Raising and Lowering Beds

In the residence halls, beds are set at a standard height that leaves 2 feet 11 inches under the bed. This is enough room to store our standard dressers.

Some students like their bed to be set lower for ease of getting in and out of it. If you would like your bed lowered, choose Report a Problem at the top of the screen and choose the Furniture tile to submit this request. We can adjust the bed to two lower levels below the standard height.

If you need the bed lowered due to a medical reason, please note this on your request with information on when you will need the work done.

If you are looking for information concerning lofted beds, or beds that have 4 feet 11 inches under the bed, please see the Lofted Beds article.
